Team Double-Eagle
With guns blazing and tires squealing, Team Double-Eagle burst onto the Overdrive Arena scene and immediately had a tremendous impact with patriotic fans. Double Eagle causes as much controversy with their unique style of fighting as they do with their patriotic fervor. Their fighting style is similar to fighter pilots. Each team leader employs a wingman, who covers the leader’s back, acts as bait, or whatever else the current battle requires.
Thinking that only two drivers would be a hindrance, Double-Eagle critics were quickly silenced with the sound of machine gun fire. Team Double-Eagle always seems to have better equipment, and better cars than their opponents. They manage to acquire a large part of their funds through legal and not-so-legal “donations” from their fervent loyalists.
Living in the limelight, Team Double-Eagle has become jingoistic; complete with patriotic rhetoric and flag-waving nationalism. These unabashed displays have cemented their popularity with a legion of fans. They have also fostered a deep-seated resentment with other teams, the unfortunate racers who fall victim to them, and fans who fid their behavior too self-promotional.
Team Motto:
It is a terrible thing to look over your shoulder when you are trying to lead – and find no one there. (Franklin D. Roosevelt)

Although we are starting out with a bankroll of $100,000, you may not automatically start as a member of a team. In order to qualify for team membership, two things must occur. First, you must have a driving score and shooting score of at least 5 each. Second, unless the total of your two scores equals or exceeds 11, you are still a rookie, and therefore must race in the Rookie-FFA event. Each rookie driver is given (for the duration of the race only) a compact, with an AV of 2 and a gatling gun. There can be between 3 – 8 rookies competing. If not enough actual player drivers are available, the players will play Arena-sponsored drivers. Be the last one moving and get invited to drive for a team!

We actually just got around to playing our first game. Candi, Zack and myself played two Rookie FFA challenges to familiarize ourselves with the rules. The game is fast and really easy. It is also fairly brutal. Loss of control is nasty.
I'm thinking of adapting the scale to Matchbox for availability and weapon customization. The game is designed for 1:43 scale and Matchbox are 1:64 scale, or approximately .67 the size, so rounding each 1" of distance to 3/4" should work out ok.
This will allow us to create larger arenas without doing any home remodeling.
