We enjoyed it. The kids had lots of fun (Zack played MTG mostly). Smaller attendance and usual complaints and issues, but still a fun Con. the one non-TC event we had was the last slot and the guy running it went home sick (lots of sick people there this year) so that was a bummer, but life happens. For me it reinforces how much more I like to run than play, remonds me of some rules I miss (mostly while other people remind the DM's there about the same thing), and regenerates my interest in things like the RPGA, etc.

Or was it less games and similar amounts of people? Perhaps you should DM some stuff next year.

It depends. we blew off a couple fo slots because we didn't get our food fast enough/ were tired, etc. I'm beyond the frantic every slot gaming of my younger years, and really liked the feeling of saying , "Meh, we'll give this one a miss - I don't want to choke down my pizza - and maybe I'll even get a beer" attitude I had this year. I enjoy it more for the kids' sake each year.

That is a similar attitude Rod and I had taken the last couple years. Though I must admit heavy drinking influenced those decisions. You could always try your sanity and run a kids DnD game next year.

You could always try your sanity and run a kids DnD game next year. We'll see. Still a fun time away for us. We may try to do some more TC stuff during the year, and that might get me more involved with that crew. If I have my way I'll be deeper than ever in running table-top and play-by-post games of varying systems, so I may be beyond insane by then anyway.

favorite in character moment at the Con: Blinky Sheep-Slayer (kobold rogue extraordinaire) and his party were being tested by a group of good undead. The test: cross a 100' wide gorge. No way to climb, anti-magic field in effect as soon as you try to cross it using means arcane (or divine). A very loud and strong-willed cleric shouted "hammer toss!" and motioned for Blinky to approach him. Thinking he was being let in on some brilliant plan, Blinky did approach. Much to his dismay he found himself quickly trussed up with a few lengths of the party's ropes. The very strong and (now clearly) very dangerous cleric began whirling Blinky around at the end of the rope, increasing momentum and height. Blinky then realized the hammer was he. Out over the gorge he went, only to enter an area of reverse gravity, at which time he plummeted to the ceiling, being knocked unconscious in the process (and almost bleeding to death.) The party eventually crossed the gorge. That night we were feasted by the good undead, and given the most luxurious quarters imaginable. I asked if the pillows were nice. The DM (Luc Poulin - great guy) answered yes. Blinky asked for 3 more, and they were brought. Before the party went anywhere the next morning, Blinky was wearing his newly devised "pillow armor" (simply a pillow tied at each side, front and back), ready to be thrown any distance at need. The DM allowed it.

And what has Blinky learned? Always stay at the best taverns run by good undead - they have the fluffiest pillows. Yes, yes, I know. Under no circumstance approach a man who has just yelled "Hammer toss!"

On behalf of everyone who will ever read this thread I say eww.
And no you can not do that unless you have a small green alien from the Irken home planet transplant your mind with that of a giant squid, while his faithful yet horribly flawed sidekick sings the doom song.
