Ok all of this is a suggestion, I looked over the condition of the fort, and spent a bit of time going over what needed to be done to make it safe/livable. From what I have come up with I will be coming up with a list of supplies Crooked Tail will be purchasing in Turtleback Ferry and having sent to the keep. As Crooked Tail is retraining she is not able to help with the initial clean up, but she will lend what aid she can in supplies for restocking.
After looking over the state of the keep, I would say our first priority should be the outer defenses. Comfort is all well and good, but until the keep is made safe there is little point to fixing the rest of it up. The Outer Wall is crumbling and way too easy to climb, and the Main Gate is standing, but only by the graces of the trash and debris the ogres piled up. I would say those are the first priorities, along with the massive repairs the Guard Tower will need. Followed by clearing the Drainage Ditch, and the Pool, as that is the primary water supply for the fort, and any minor repairs needed on the Southern Gate. The Stable may need some cleaning but doesn’t seem to have any damage so with some minor work we can get the stable up and running for Andy and Pickles. The Cook House while it will be nice to having running is definitely a lower priority then the rest of the repairs, but should be cleaned since it is currently a slaughter house. The New Barracks should be torn down and possibly rebuilt at another time, but seeing as we will most likely be away adventuring, while the followers are fixing up the keep they may as well remain in the keep where they will be better protected should anything happen while we are away. I’m sure in the future though we will probably need to look at some housing buildings outside the keep as our followers grow in number.
On the first floor of the keep, we have a lot of little rooms which need addressing. The main doors into the building proper are in very sad shape and will need some hefty repairs. The Hallway will need to be reinforced and strengthened. The Towers are in good repair, we should just make sure the ladders are safe. The Workroom should be set up right away, as it will give us a place to start on any repairs in house. It needs new tools and to be cleaned, but other than that seems to be in good shape. The Armory, we should work on restocking, and making sure that there are supplies for both big and little people, and it is in dire need of a new door. The multiple Guest Rooms, I thought, would make good sleeping quarters for the members of the group, there are 5 Guest Rooms, which need a cleaning and new furniture, but are in overall good repair. The current Library is about twice the size of the guest rooms, I was thinking that could be repurposed into another room for a member of the group, a double room, for Quren and Turen, with a little work we could probably even put in another door and put up a wall to make them separate rooms. The Store Room on this level, is completely empty and will need to be fully restocked with supplies for the keep, food, wood, linens, you name it we need it. The Infirmary needs to be thoroughly cleaned, and restocked, I thought the rear part of this room could also be turned into Darcy’s room, as she would be the primary tender of the sick and wounded, and if I know her, while anyone is in her care she would never want to be far. The Mess Hall needs all new furniture, and to be thoroughly cleaned, otherwise it is in good shape. The Kitchen need serious cleaning, new supplies, and repairs made to the stone fire place. The Pantry needs to be cleaned and restocked with food. The Barracks in the keep are in need of new furniture and the west wall is in dire need of repairs. We should fashion part of the room into quarters for Blargg and the remainder into sleeping quarters for the followers until such time as we can rebuild the barracks outside for the followers.
Inside the keep on the second floor, we need to repair the Warning Bell. The Chapel should be cleaned, and rededicated to the gods among our party, so that all the clerics/paladins, have a place to pray and contemplate their deities wishes. The Tribunal should set back up as a place for all of us to gather and discuss tactics, go over plans, and the Map Room next door restored for the purpose it was intended, the Store Room off the tribunal might make a good room to store extra magic items, wands, misc. magic that we do not need with us or is in excess of what the party is currently using. As none of us is Commander, the Commanders Quarters should be repurposed, I was thinking with our group having a pathfinder and a wizard, perhaps the space would be best suited for a library/ study, the library in the keep is relatively small and I was thinking would be best served to have the room repurposed.
The underground level of the keep is mostly untouched and requires little more than a new bridge, perhaps a trap or two, to keep other invaders at bay, and a modest cleaning. The Jail area needs to be cleaned and set right so it can be a functional jail again, should the need arise. Crooked Tail will gather up all the silk veils and pillows, and make sure they are clean and put to good use.
