After the last skeleton fell, I took the liberty of having Jamir feed a potion of cure moderate wounds to Holvar so that the cleric could use the raise dead scroll on Hector.
The barbarian seems to be indicating that you can pass by him and go back, if you wish. There is also quite a bit of gear on the ground, and a door going forward at the top of the stairs.
