Maedhros will offer to take the first watch, he also sets his bedroll up just at the edge of the firelight.

Sha-gra makes some simple root tea over the fire. He sweetens it with some sugar grain, and adds flavor with simple spices. He shares it with his comrades, before retiring to study his spellbook. He feels he will rest well and absorb the arcane letters and wisdom of his magic.
He walks over to Maedhros and rests a hand on his shoulder before retiring to sleep "It has been a long journey friend, thank you for taking guard over the camp... my powers will be fresh in the morning because of you."

With a wary look on his face, Hoarfrost sits lotus position, and begins to rest his mind.

Othrik will help set camp, then take time for his devotions and spell preparation.

The night passes uneventfully. Does Sha-Gra prepare the same spells? Also, on waking, you find yourselves hungry and thirsty. Water is not a problem as you still follow the Drunderry River. All have rations except Maedhros. What does he do?

It is early afternoon when you note a large statue of a norned beast in the center of the road. It rests upon a black basalt pedestal, covered in vines and worn by time. The statue is eroded with time so that it is chipped and pock-marked, but its right arm is stretched out pointing to the east.

How does the statue match up with the directions the lamassu gave us?

How does the statue match up with the directions the lamassu gave us? The lammasu basically said up the Imperial Road. No mention was made of a statue or a specific direction, but the statues is horned and Baleon Nakt was a temple of the Horned One.

"Guess we go that way."
Loreli heads up the road following the statue.

Looking back at the statue, Hoarfrost shakes his head. "Another omen of what lies ahead, no suprise. I am sure some light, or good will surely balance out this evil I feel, eventuallly........"

It is almost dark when you reach what remains of a temple; several free-standing walls covered in vinces, a few columns. A set of stairs going up to nothing and heaps of rubble.

"Hhhmmm...my friends, do we search now in the encroaching dark, or do we set up camp and watch and wait til morning? I'd prefer to investigate now, instead of being a victim in my sleep"

"Dunno" replies Othrik, stroking his beard "How're we set for light? Night is fast approaching."
((sorry about my sporadic posting all, I've had an avalanche of end-of-quarter projects at work))
