Building Artaxia’s Tower

(Just as a quick note, I went back to calling it Artaxia’s Tower because of her name being recently cleared).

So, now we have permission to go ahead and build our town, and, as I took the Landlord feat, we have a fair amount of funds to actually go ahead and build it. However, as it's not my town and my town alone, I was hoping for some help in regards to building this town.

First off, the Lyre of Building - while the Lyre of Building will not build the town by itself, I have an expert performer as a follower that can make use of it, and, it will help us take 15-30% off of the costs of building. I have 25,000g as an allowance to build our stronghold, which should allow for a humble beginning.

Now, I'm more than happy to use some of that allowance towards building structures for you guys, but, I did sac a feat to do so, and, I wouldn't mind seeing some money in order to build your buildings. So, if you have a specific request as to what you want built, well, I think that charging 25% of the building costs is fair.

Now, if you wanted to help me invest in making the Lyre of Building - of which I need about 2000g more gold to make, assuming the Daughter will help me invest in it - I'd gladly put the amount that you invest towards the Lyre towards a building (or buildings) of your choice. Additionally, when I reach next level, I'll be able to effectively double whatever gold you invest into a building, if you give me the money. So, structures, outside of the original allowance I have, only cost 50% of what they normally would.

I'm going to be drawing up plans for the tower, using the Stronghold Builder's Guide - to which you can add to, of course. But right now, the most important thing is funds for the Lyre of Building - which will allow us to build for a great deal cheaper.

Anyone interested in helping me invest into this item?

PS - I'll also be making my followers available for various services, from knowledge to crafting to professions, and I'll have at least one spellcaster in my ranks, to what use, well, we'll see. I'll make the follower's stats available to everyone.

If you have any spare scratch, that's the way to go. I don't want to have to sell off my belongings to get this Lyre, but, I will if I have to.

I think we may want to consider selling the ring of Water Walk, that alone almost covers the cost of making the lyre, and if so I'd be willing to kick in the remaining cost for the lyre.

Between Artaxia and Myself Water Walk is a spell we can cast a hundred times over, so the value of the ring to us is minimal.

The +2 ring should go to someone who does not currently have a ring of protection. That way we can bump up our current defenses.

Then whatever we have left is for saving up forwhatever we need or want, be it buildings or armor, weaponry and fun stuff.

I have 2750 gold I will contribute to the Lyre. I'm not sure how much more I can come up with at the moment.

Also, is the Stronghold Builders guide a seperate book? Where can I find out about it?

It's a separate 3rd edition book. We have a copy at home.

It looks as if the repairs of the hewn stone wall surrounding the tower are going to cost a great deal, but, I got that covered - 24,500g from my Landlord feat before the use of the Lute. If we get the Lute, it'll be a great deal less, and if people can cast Wall of Stone, it'll be less still. At the very least, I want to put in a gatehouse, a pair of guard posts at the front gate and a barbican above the gate. I have those drawn out, leaving only the tower and the orchid standing. I figure Artaxia can have a crack at the orchid.

I believe that was an expressed opinion, not just reminding you about something.

The main characters that do not have Rings of Protection are, Brona and Sharial.

I think the Ring of Protection should go to one of them as they don't have any and it will benefit them.



As for the stonework, there is already stone where the wall is as the former wall was stone. Artaxia and Sharial have already uses Greater Stone Shape to rebuild the main part of the walls, they aren't pretty and hewn, your guys would need to do that but they are there.

Already asked about that - the stone that exists is so ruined, the time it would take cleaning up pretty much equates the cost of the amount of stone we can salvage. No worries, though. Just gotta get cash together for that Lyre.

Just on my end - the only thing I want right now is that Lyre of Building. I don't care who gets the Ring of Protection +2, though I would suggest that Brona get it - dude gets hit too much. As for the Ring of Water Walking, it's a good ring to have around, but, not something that we MUST have.

I vote we sell the ring of Water Walking for 7,500gp.
I will kick in the remaining 150gp for Jason to make the Lyre.

I then vote Jason make the lyre before any building or repairs take place to save 50% of the cost.

I vote the Ring of Protection be given to one of the two main characters that does not have one: Brona or Sharial

And I will be drawing up plans for a temple/hospital I would like to build in the town. Also don't forget the entire area is hallowed, I cast two so everything inside the walls and even a little outside of the walls is hallowed. So we have a nice undead free town too, not to mention a few other spell effects that are included in that one handy spell.
